Progressive National Football Challenge

CSS will televise the Progressive Football Challenge doubleheader live from Tom Robinson Memorial Stadium in Suwanee, GA, Friday, August 29th, to kickoff its 2008 Comcast High School Football Game of the Week broadcast schedule. This marks the 11th season that Comcast has televised live high school football in Atlanta.
CSS will air both games live across the southeast, starting with the Central Gwinnett Black Knights vs. Mainland (Daytona Beach, FL) Bucs at 6:00 p.m. ET, followed by the host North Gwinnett Bulldogs vs. #1 ranked Byrnes (Duncan, SC) Rebels at 9:00 p.m.
Central Gwinnett will be led by first-year head coach Ed Stokes, who was an assistant to the late Dennis Roland on last year’s team that finished 4-6. Roland also coached at North Gwinnett during his career. For Mainland Head Coach John Maronto, this will be his first game since undergoing triple-bypass heart surgery during the off-season. The Bucs were 8-4 in 2007 and reached the Florida state playoffs for a 12th time in 12 years under Moronto, who guided Mainland to a state championship in 2003.
In the nightcap, North Gwinnett will begin the 2008 season looking to build off the greatest season in Bulldogs history. North Gwinnett finished 13-2 in 2007 and reached Georgia’s AAAAA state championship game. In two seasons under Head Coach Bob Sphire, the Bulldogs have gone 24-4 and are led by college prospect Mikey Tamburo at quarterback. Byrnes High School is ranked number one in the nation by USA Today after finishing 15-0 in 2007, winning South Carolina’s AAAA state championship, the fifth time in six years the Rebels have won the crown. Brynes star-studded team boasts a junior class that is considered to sport nine major college prospects including running back Marcus Lattimore, who many feel could be the best junior ball carrier in the nation.

New Spirit Wear Special Offer

The Touchdown Club has come up with new spirit wear designs for
this season. Please take a look at the attached designs and order
form and place your order.
Special prices have been listed for the touchdown club. These
items will go on sale at games to the general public but the prices will be higher.
There are two different color selections-- grey and black. There are
also two different design choices for the black colored items. There
is also an option on the order form to have your players number put on the sleeve and pant of the sweat suits for an additional $5. This way the players will not get their items confused in the locker room and the parents and family members can wear their players number on game nights in the stands. Orders can be turned in to the red box with payment, or paid for with PayPal on-line here.
Orders with these prices will be placed on September 5th.
If you would like to order please turn in form and payment by 9/5, there will not be another touchdown club order done after this time and ordering numbers on the sweats will not be available after Sept 5th. The number is something just being done for the Touchdown Club Members.
So Order yours today!

The design styles are shown on the order form, but you can also
come out and see the items and try sizes on to make sure you order correctly. Kim Jenkins and Melisia Bowman will be at the field house after practice on Monday, August 25 and Wed August 27-- with samples of all the sizes and designs.
Order form can be downloaded here.
